On December 19, 2012, more than 500 people, including designers and delegates from China, UK and Korea as well as representative of creative parks and universities, attended 2012 China Red Star Design Awarding Ceremony in Beijing.

A characteristic will be easily found among the winners. Besides the positive effect of design in enhancing industrial competitiveness, improving living quality and promoting urban development and ecological construction, people are delighted to see many designs aiming at disadvantaged group. While improving living conditions of the disadvantaged group, those products have led designers into focus on that group’s demand in a subtle way. In this sense, design, while changing people’s life, is conveying various kinds of good will and striving for promoting justice, equality and democracy in the society.
