Paper/Not Paper—1st Round of Paper Art Exhibition of China and Japan, jointly sponsored by Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA)and Tokyo University of the Arts(TUA), is lately staged in the Art Museum of CAFA. Around the concept “Paper”, the cultural connotation of paper and the possible expression of paper in the current cultural context are discussed. In the meanwhile, under the theme of Paper/Not Paper, art practice is fulfilled on the Oriental Spirits on which China and Japan share focus. Paper installation, paper sculpture and all artworks made of paper give a reflection of similarity and difference in expression of participant artists from China and Japan. As this is the first round of this exhibition, the second round will take place in the Art Museum of TUA in October.
