Ren Renfa was a hydraulic engineer who overlooked major projects for the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) court he served, but today, he is better known as a great painter celebrated for his meticulous portrayal of horses. Now his works are spread across museum collections, including Chu Yu Tu (Coming out of the Stable), a prominent handscroll painting measuring some 2 meters in length.

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, China Post recently issued a set of three postage stamps, each depicting a section of Chu Yu Tu, housed at the Palace Museum in Beijing. China Post also launched a WeChat mini-program that allows people to appreciate the horses' strength and their calm temperament in the painting, as well as games to win small gifts.
