Cook Islands, known as a ¡°fruit garden of South Pacific¡±, is located in the very center of the Polynesian Triangle. With simple and honest people and gorgeous landscape, it attracts numerous tourists worldwide every year. Residents in this islands, men or women, like to wear Chinese hibiscus flower at temples.

The Maori are the native people of Cook Islands. Over the sweep of history, Maori have developed a unique and rich culture of their own. Their weaving and carving traditions are world famous. Traditional music and dance constitutes an indispensable part of Maori culture. In particular, Maori¡¯s Haka dance is exceptionally appealing with ancient charms, melodious music, beautiful movements and strong passions.

Akirata Cultural Dance Troupe of the Cook Islands was created in 1998 by Mrs Adriane Clarke All dancers have been rigorously trained and dance choreography combines traditional and modern dance styles.  Akirata Cultural Dance Troupe is one of the top 3 dance troupes in the Cook Islands and has been representing the Government of the Cook Islands at many international events.
