<p>　　中国大众音乐协会副会长、钢琴家、作曲家魏东明在揭牌仪式上表示，为了让人民大众更好地感受、认识与享受高雅音乐艺术，让人民同中国经典文艺在一起，更好地实现对美好生活的向往与对高尚精神生活的追求，经大众音乐协会理事会研究决定成立中国大众音乐协会交响乐艺术委员会，并聘任刘建民为首届执行会长兼秘书长。</p>
<p>　　刘建民回顾了自己音乐艺术的学习生涯，并表示交响音乐艺术普及的关键在于“从娃娃抓起” 。之后刘建民宣布了中国大众音乐协会交响乐艺术委员会新任副会长、副秘书长名单，并对2020年下半年的主要工作方向作出部署：打造新型音乐协会，努力做好为广大会员的服务工作，开展各种普及音乐课程、展演、考级和全方位的服务，并深入基层开展音乐扶贫工作。</p>
<p>　　“全国音乐教育精准扶贫行动”同期启动。该项目由刘建民设计实施，首期工作定位在四川省、青海省，项目主要负责人为四川音乐学院副教授张文坤和青海省民族大学音乐学院教师杜亮。</p>
