The 4th Chinese Art Forum of Mainland, Taiwan Hong Kong and Macao and Taiwan, the gala performances of selected music and dances in a panoramic way, the international ballet star who came to perform in China, the fine arts exhibition that display the visual art charms of other countries, and perhaps the most exciting news to Chinese people that Mo Yan won the Noble Prize in Literature… In this winter, the dimension and frequency of art exchange and communication between China and foreign countries do not seem to decline because of the dropping temperatures or the rumored arrival of the so-called doomsday.

Some critics believe that since the new century Chinese contemporary arts have accelarated in an amazing speed. Different art media, languages, cultural ideals and original ideas interacted with each other and created a multiple-oriented yet organic art circumstances amid the multi-dimensional social, humanitarian, physical and discourse spaces.

In this art circumstance, artists, theorists and other workers in multiple art fields actively tie their own creation, ideas and operations to the life of this period closely, which becomes the forceful embodiment of their artistic vitality. They are exihited not only as the performances, lectures, exhibitions, but also as the frequent contacts with artists from other cultural backgrounds. The strength and dimensions of culture and arts also draw in numerous dialogues of varied parties, reflecting the relationship between arts and culture.
